Dr. Monisha Dass did her Diploma in Psychiatry from NKP Salve institute of medical sciences,Nagpur. Post diploma,she worked for a year with KEM hospital,Mumbai. On returning to Nagpur,she joined the Regional Mental Hospital,Nagpur for a year. Monisha is the first doctor from her family of engineers. Always a rebel,when the family insisted that she take up a conventional stream of medicine,she opted for Psychiatry because the human mind has always intrigued her. She loves to read and exercise and strongly advocates the inclusion of physical activities in their daily regime to her patients.

Monisha has conducted school programs for adolescents dealing with problems like anxiety and depression. While in Mumbai,she worked with the street children involved in drug abuse and alcoholism.She actively participated in the suicide prevention cell while working at KEM Hospital,Mumbai. Having already worked at this centre for about a decade, she is well acquainted with the cultural and mental health issues in this region.
